Media Filters, Pressure Sand Filters / Dual Media Filters & Activated Carbon
Media Filters: Media filtration is a type of filter process where water passes through the filtration media to remove solids from the liquid. Media filters are used for filtering out numerous small particles, including sediment, iron, chlorine, and organic materials.
Pressure Sand Filters: The Pressure Sand Filter consists of a multiple layer of sand with a variety in size and specific gravity. These Filters are designed to remove turbidity and suspended particles present in the feed water with minimum pressure drop. These Filters are custom designed to suit the process requirement.
Dual Media Filters: A dual-media filter consists of a layer of multiple media type. The upper layer of coal traps most of the large flock, and the finer sand grains in the lower layer trap smaller impurities. This process is called in-depth filtration, as the impurities are not simply screened out or removed at the surface of the filter single media bed.
Activated Carbon Filters: Carbon filters remove contaminants through adsorption. Adsorption means that contaminants are attracted to the surface of the activated carbon and held to it, much the same way a magnet attracts and holds iron filings. Also act as a catalyst to change the chemical composition of some contaminants. Activated carbon is ideal for removing chlorine, organic chemicals such as pesticides, THMs like chloroform, and many VOCs that are components of gasoline, solvents and industrial cleaners.
